Stunning antique gold filled and garnet colored glass ring. I purchased this from an antique dealer and it is gorgeous! It is gold filled, and I believe brass is the base metal. It has a large faceted oval shaped glass stone that is a beautiful red. The setting is what is truly unique and makes this ring special. The prongs that hold the stone in the setting alternate in pairs, so two go around the stone and two wrap around the other way, to creat a loop. The setting frame has petal like detailing. The ring shank has ridges and bands closer to the stone. There is some wear, mostly on the inside of the ring shank and the base. It looks like it was sized at some point, as there is some silver silver at the bottom, which you don’t see while wearing. The stone has one tiny scratch that I can see. It’s in remarkably shape. Size 6.5.
