Panasonic's Power Last function makes 2 standard AA batteries (not included) last much longer than they would in another player, up to 30 hours--or up to 40 hours during MP3 playback. You also have the option of running the player from rechargeable batteries (Panasonic P-3GAVA/2B, not included) or from an optional AC adapter (Panasonic RP-AC46).
