Jesus is the light of the world? Well, one thing light does is to show clearly the way to go. Jesus is the way to eternal life. I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (Jesus - John 14:6) Believe it or not, God really does want us to come freely to Him because He loves us deeply. However, one of the consequences of light is that it exposes a lot of filth and cobwebs, and gunk! Our true sinful nature is evident in comparison to a perfect and just God. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) But the good news is we can freely come to God because Jesus paid the penalty for our sins with His death on the cross and resurrection. You can receive God's free gift of eternal life when you turn and look to the light (Jesus Christ) and place your trust in Him for your salvation. Wow! What a sight! Everyone who looks to the Son [Jesus Christ] and believes in him shall have eternal life. (John 6:40)
