The Zen Water Micro-Ceramic Filter dome made of highly compressed ceramic with diatomic properties. The surface of the dome consists of millions of pores that measure 0.2 to 0.5 micron in diameter, while most bacteria is 0.5 to 1.0 microns in size. The ceramic filter dome sits in the top holding tank. The expected useful life of the ceramic filter is 1,000 gallons or 1 year, whichever comes first. The normal flow rate is approximately 1-1/2 to 2 hrs. for every gallon. When the ceramic is in use for the first time, the flow rate might be slow, but it should speed up in a few days.
